Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Retired With Cats (retiredwithcats.com) is a small, independent website. We collect as little personal information as we can, and this page explains what that is and how it is used.
Who we are
This website is run by Charlie. You can reach us at hello@retiredwithcats.com.
What we collect, and why
Reading the site. You can read every page without creating an account or giving us any information. This site has no comments section and no login.
Newsletter. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name. We use them only to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can stop at any time. The newsletter is sent through Kit (Kit.com), which stores your address on our behalf. You can read Kit’s privacy policy at kit.com/privacy (opens in a new tab).
Web hosting. Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, your browser type and the pages you visited. These logs help keep the site running and secure and are not used to identify individual readers.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see which posts are read most. It counts page visits anonymously, does not use cookies, and does not identify individual readers.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies of its own.
Links to other websites
Posts sometimes link to other websites, for example veterinary research or breed information. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Images
The photographs on this site do not contain location data.
Children
This site is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Your rights
You may ask us at any time to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. For newsletter subscribers, the quickest way to be removed is the unsubscribe link in any email. For anything else, write to hello@retiredwithcats.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
